  • Oct. 2- Evening of Recollection

A monthly Day of Recollection is a time set aside specifically for a Christian to seriously go deeper into his or her relationship with God. Although we spend time in prayer each day, an Evening of Recollection is a time to withdraw one hour from the noise and cares of this earthly life in order to spend some quality time in conversation with God guided by meditations, prayer, and an examination of conscience, with the opportunity for Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and confession. All who are truly serious about deepening their love and friendship with Jesus Christ will benefit from this monthly time of recollection and prayer.  Corpus Christi will begin an Evening of Recollection starting Thursday, October 2, from 6:30-7:30 PM in the church. Please see the schedule below to find your appropriate meeting date:

First Thursday (10/2): Men | English

Second Thursday (10/9): Women | English

Third Thursday (10/16): Men | Spanish

Fourth Thursday (10/23): Women | Spanish

  • Oct. 4- Mass of Remembrance

A Mass of Remembrance will take place at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (Lexington, SC) on the Feast Day of St. Francis and will be celebrated by Father William Frei on October 4 at 8:30 AM. All family and their friends who are grieving the tragedy of miscarriage, stillborn, early induction, abortion, or the death of a child are welcome. The loss could be recent or could have occurred a long time ago. This Mass will kick off the Charleston Diocese Rosary Congress.

Fr. Joseph Pearce, CO will appear as guest speaker in the parish hall afterwards. Light refreshments will be served.  For those who can’t attend in person, you can access the ceremony virtually at https://www.corpuschristisc.org and select “Watch Mass Live.”

  • Oct. 5- Life Chain

Life Chain is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life Americans standing in rembrance of over 65 million lives lost to abortion in the USA (since Roe v Wade), praying for our nation, for people in crisis situations, and for an end to abortion.

Please arrive by 1:15 PM in the Church to receive instructions and attend the Exposition of the Holy Eucharist. Signs will be available in the Church vestibule. Our Life Chain will form outside the Corpus Christi Church and extend along Augusta Road. After, we will attend the closing with Benediction.

  • Oct. 6- "Dropped Stitch" Knitting Group

Join “Dropped Stitch” on Monday, October 6, at 10:00 AM in the Parish Hall. Our mission is to hand make items useful for charity. Some of the items our members make are:  knitted   or crochet blankets, hats, scarves, mittens, and prayer cloths. All are welcome and we have several members who can teach you to knit or crochet! We meet on the first Monday of each month.

  • Oct. 11- Rosary Rally

America Needs Fatima has invited Corpus Christi Catholic Church to join with over 23,000 rosary rallies happening nationwide on Saturday, October 11.  We will meet in the church parking lot and begin the Rosary at noon. (We encourage attendees to arrive ten minutes prior to the start time to ensure there are no delays.) Our objective is to pray the Rosary together in public for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  Please bring a foldable chair if standing is a concern.

Each October since 2007, thousands of faithful have gathered to be part of the world’s largest rosary rally, and now you can too! For many, a public rally is a spiritual experience that effects them profoundly.  For others– even those who quickly drive by the church, the impact may be the beginning of a spiritual awakening!  Together, our presence will make a profound impact on the lives of those who witness our prayers.
