Guillermo J. Ramis, Pastoral Associate
Growing up in Puerto Rico, Guillermo has always exhibited exceptional work ethic and athletic abilities from a young age. He was member of the junior and senior Swimming and Water Polo National Teams, Letterman of the Men's Swimming Varsity Team and recipient of the National Collegiate MVP award during his time at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in Organizational Studies in the year 2000.
Guillermo has spent much of his executive and managerial career in the for-profit sector as a wealth manager, investment banker and entrepreneur. He has also served and operated charitable organizations trying to touch deeper chords with his local communities – creating and managing a post-secondary program for students with learning differences for three years, administering an independent non-profit day school for four years, aiding the Tribunal of the Diocese of Charleston as case assistant for nine years, teaching catechism and the social doctrine of the Catholic Church for ten years, chairing the pastoral council for four years, and has twelve years of experience in teaching in addition to eight years of coaching swimming, water polo, soccer, basketball and volleyball.
And while his professional career has seen no shortage of talent, determination and success, Guillermo’s most precious title is that of being a husband and father. Not only is he and his lovely wife Laura the parents of six amazing children, they have also lovingly fostered nine children in South Carolina. Together, he and his wife are truly outstanding examples of living out the Catholic faith and sharing God’s love and mercy with everyone they meet. This family is never short on smiles, so don’t hesitate to throw them a smile or a wave if you see them!
Scott R. Kramer, Director of Faith Formation
Scott joined the Corpus Christi staff on January 19, 2014 as the Director of Faith Formation. A native of Pittsburgh, he and his wife, Lisa and their four children moved to Lexington in 2011. Soon after attending Corpus Christi Church Scott volunteered as a seventh-grade catechist and fulfilled that role until accepting his current position. A life-long Catholic his experience at a men's weekend retreat while living in Pittsburgh profoundly impacted his spiritual life and his desire to more earnestly live out his faith. Scott also works part-time at CVS (across from the church) and enjoys spending time with his family, running and praying. He is also a big Pittsburgh sports fan!
"If you had told me before leaving Pittsburgh that I would soon be working for the Catholic Church is this role I would have had a hard time believing it. This is a dream come true to me. A dream I didn't realize I had. I am truly elated to be working for Christ and His Church." Nothing is impossible with God.
Maria E. Coller, Parish Secretary
Originally from California, Maria and her family moved to South Carolina after enjoying a trip to Edisto Beach (and we can’t say we blame her!) Maria has had the unique experience of growing up in both Nicaragua and California, during which she was able to be exposed to various different languages and cultures, which ultimately help lead her to follow her passion for working in diverse and high needs educational setting. She’s also had an exciting career of having a community T.V. show in Simi Valley, California!
Her Catholic faith plays a vital role in her life, with her Italian roots contributing to her faith formation early on in her life. During her brief time visiting Italy, she recalls the special connection she felt to her faith. “Seeing nuns and priests in the city riding the bus and shopping alongside me in supermarkets helped me develop a closer relationship with the religious.
