Further to the latest update from the Bishop's Office, the Vigil for Pentecost is the celebration at which the Sacraments of Initiation and reception into full communion are to take place for those in the RCIA journey (RICA in Spanish). As to the celebrations of the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion, both will be postponed until further notice - at least May 31st. Official communication from the Bishop’s Office will be coming soon. Immediately we receive further information, we will convey it to all Parishioners.
The Parish Bible Study will start presenting on Monday, May 4, the video series NOOMA featuring Christian teacher Rob Bell. NOOMA is a series of short films that explore our world from a perspective of Jesus. You are extended an invitation to search, question, and join the discussion. 4 Today at 2:30 in the afternoon, we will livestream through the Corpus Christi website the honor procession and funeral mass offered for the departed soul of our beloved parishioner David Gates. Before, during or after the private funeral rites, we ask for your prayers that the Lord May receive him today in His eternal Kingdom, and provide His divine comfort and strength to the Gates family and all who mourn his passing.
Tomorrow, May 3, is World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has asked all Catholics to intercede for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. As recommended by our pastor, Father Joseph, consider writing a letter or getting in touch with a priest, deacon, or member of a religious community to thank them for the impact they have had, or continue to have on your life. Keep our priests, deacons, and religious brothers and sisters in your prayers this weekend. Talk to your children and grandchildren or your sibling about God's desire for your life and the possibility of becoming a priest or religious brother or sister. Remember the importance of praying for more young men and women to respond to God's call.
Mother’s Day is a special day when we can celebrate our mother’s love. Whether your mother is living or now rests in peace with the Lord, you can show your love for her by joining Father Joseph in a special gift of prayer honoring all mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, spiritual mothers, wives, mothers-in-law, or anyone who has opened their heart to another, at our Blessing of Mothers. This special celebration will take place during the Holy Mass on Sunday, May 10. The gift of Masses is eternal! If you would like to include a Mass Intention on Mother’s Day, please visit the Parish website: http://www.corpuschristisc.org/mass-intention
Father Joseph is searching for an artist to paint a life-size religious painting that will be displayed in the church. If you or someone you know is artistically gifted and would be interested in the above, please contact Father Joseph at the Parish Office Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. May the Lord richly bless you all!
