Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed
November 2 | 6:30 PM
Corpus Christi invites our community in faith to join us in praying the Rosary on November 2 at 6:30 p.m. to commemorate our faithful departed. Candles will be provided by the Parish, placed in the vestibule area. Suggested donation is $5. Following the Rosary prayer service, we will have an Evening of Remembrance Celebration. The memorial service will remember the faithful departed inured in the Columbarium, as well as our parishioners that have passed away during the last 12 months. For those who would like to bring flowers and/or plants to the Columbarium and Prayer Garden for All Souls’ Day, please place the potted plants and mums (no vase with flowers) in the Blessed Mother Grotto area.

Second Annual Festival
Thank You To All The Volunteers
On behalf of the Oktoberfest committee, we would like to sincerely thank you for your precious time and effort to make this annual festival a great success. Our total fundraising efforts totaled $9,370.00 (total revenue) with a net income that amounted to $2,693.24. This is something we can all be proud of as we continue to fund the Assistance Ministry and its efforts to reach out to our church family and neighbors with food and financial assistance for rent and other needs.
Poor Souls in Purgatory
Novena Prayer
The entire month of November is dedicated to honoring the dearly departed. The month begins with All Saints Day on November 1st followed by All Souls Day on November 2nd. On these days, Catholics recite prayers in private and at Mass that honor the dead while seeking to help free souls from purgatory. St. Alphonsus Liguori, a saint that sought to help the souls of those trapped in purgatory, composed the Novena Prayers for the Poor Souls in Purgatory, specifically to help release the souls that are being tormented in purgatory. As Jesus reminds us in the Gospel to be persistent in prayer, this Novena is a great aid in doing just that. All we need to do is to say the daily prayers with a sincere heart. First Friday & First Saturday Devotions
November 4 | 8:30 AM & November 5 | 8:30 AM
The First Friday devotion and the First Saturday devotion are both reparatory devotions in the Catholic Church that arose from separate private revelations. The First Friday devotion is associated with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, while the First Saturday devotion is associated with the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Incidentally, these are two of the most widely popular devotions to Jesus and Mary. Both devotions involve receiving Holy Communion on a certain number of consecutive first Fridays or first Saturdays of the month. Thirty-Six Young Confirmants
Congratulations
Thirty-six young confirmants received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday, October 23. Bishop Emeritus Robert Guglielmone was present to confer our Class of 2022, exhorting the group to go forth and share the love of Christ with everyone that they meet on this journey of life. The Bishop also encouraged those gathered to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit to help make the world a better place. Thank you to the parents, guardians, sponsors, catechists and leaders of the Youth Ministry (Dana Crumpton, Carmen Wilson and Bob Bennett) for their hard work preparing the confirmants strengthen the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Let us pray for them that, as confirmed Catholic Christians, their lives may produce a rich harvest of good works for the Roman Catholic Church and the world.
