THE BIBLE IN A YEAR
Retreat with Fr. Mike Schmitz | February 18-20
Father Joseph: "It is such a blessing knowing that many in the Parish have participated in The Bible in a Year program offered by Ascension Presents. If you have not done this amazing program, I want to encourage you to do so. I am going through it now for the second time, and I am gaining even more insights and understanding of the Word of God. I have also signed up for The Bible in a Year taking place next month (please see below for more information). I am planning on offering the same retreat here at the parish during Lent."

The Bible In A Year program, hosted by Father Mike Schmitz, guides Catholics through the Bible in 365 daily episodes. Each 20- to 25-minute episode includes (i) two to three scripture readings, (ii) a reflection from Father Mike, (iii) and a guided prayer to help you hear God’s voice in His Word. To listen to the episodes, or sign up to receive the complete The Bible in a Year program, reading plan and updates, please click on the bottom below.

BEING A SAFE FRIEND
Empowering God's Children | Teaching Safety Lesson
Corpus Christi will present the sexual abuse prevention lesson Being a Safe Friend to our Group B students this Sunday, January 30, during our regular class time. The Empowering God's Children - Teaching Safety program is provided to us by the Diocese of Charleston, and is a part of our ongoing effort to help create and maintain safe environments for all children and youth in our care. All parents have the right to choose whether your child participates in the program.  We encourage parents to read the overview and lesson plan assigned to your child's age group (grade) to understand exactly what your child will be taught. To access the lesson, click on the button below. It is important to note this is basic prevention education and is in no way to be considered sex education or education on private body parts. Neither of these components fall within our educational mandate to provide your child with the information needed to keep them safe from those who would do them harm. If you are a parent and wish to opt your child out of the prevention education session, please complete the opt-out form below and return it via e-mail to the address skramer@charlestondiocese.org.

SURVEY FOR THE SYNOD ON SYNODALITY
XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops
In a formal declaration, Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, the Secretary-General of the Synod of Bishops, announced that Pope Francis will convene the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in October 2022. Pope Francis is inviting the entire Catholic Church to reflect on a theme that is decisive for its life and mission: “It is precisely this path of synodality which God expects of the Church of the third millennium.” This journey, which follows in the wake of the Church’s “renewal” proposed by the Second Vatican Council, is both a gift and a task: “By journeying together and reflecting together on the journey that has been made, the Church will be able to learn through Her experience which processes can help Her to live communion, to achieve participation, to open Herself to mission.”    Our Bishop, Most Reverend Robert Guglielmone, is also an issuer of this invitation. At present, he invites us to please consider taking in an honest and open manner the survey by clicking the Diocesan Survey button below. The Synod on Synodality is a two-year process of listening and dialogue beginning with a solemn opening during the current month of October. The synodal process will conclude in 2023. Learn more about the synodal process by visiting the Diocesan website and the Vatican Synod site below.
