RELIGIOUS ED AND SACRAMENTAL PREP
All Religious Ed programs, as well as all Sacramental Preparation programs (i.e. First Holy Communion, Confirmation, RCIA) will be merged into ONE (1) single program: FAMILIES WITH CHRIST. None of the programs will return to Parish classrooms this calendar year 2020. FAMILIES WITH CHRIST will start their online education and preparation on Monday, September 14. The online sessions will not be live, but recorded, following The Apostolate’s Family Catechesis core curriculum.
2
FIRST CATECHISTS WEEKEND BLESSING
Since all Religious Ed and Sacramental Prep programs will be merged into one (1) program, FAMILIES WITH CHRIST, the participants (students) will not have an assigned catechist this 2020 calendar year. As parents, we are our children’s first catechists, and as such, all parents enrolled in the FAMILIES WITH CHRIST program will be called to the front of the sanctuary to receive a special blessing and commissioning during the weekend Masses on September 19th and September 20th. Parents and guardians, please plan to attend one of the weekend Masses to receive this beautiful and important blessing.

BOOKS TO PRISONERS
Corpus Christi donated over 600 books to the Kirkland Correctional Institution at Broad River Road in Columbia. Books are crucial to the spiritual and educational development of all people. Since Kirkland does not allow family and friends to send books into the prison, our books will offer escape, entertainment and practical information, as well as faith formation to people in prison. We are sincerely grateful to all parishioners who donated books to support their educational and personal development. |

HIGH RISK PARISHIONERS
Corpus Christi will continue to distribute Communion for one full hour after the conclusion of the 11:00 a.m. Holy Mass on Sunday. Pass the word to relatives and friends that Corpus Christi is encouraging every Catholic person who is in trance and cannot attend Mass because of the pandemic (high risk / anxiety disorder) to watch the Holy Mass from home or any convenient location, and, afterwards, to come to the Parish from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. to receive Holy Communion outside the church building - next to the Columbarium and Prayer Garden.
Communion will be distributed by an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, with the greatest reverence, following the safety guidelines. On another note, we will also distribute Communion right after the conclusion of the 5:00 p.m. Saturday Vigil Mass for those who watched the Mass outside the church building. |
